April 29th, 2024 changes were announced by the Honourable Marc Miller, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship (IRCC) to combat thousands of SUV applications in the backlog.
Our view on results of the announcement:
✔️1st impact. Limitation on total new cases for Canada in 2024. Old cases are being processed toward yearly 5000 permanent residents goal.
✔️2nd impact. Limitation on how many cases each designated organization can support per year. 10 per organization per year.
✔️3rd impact. Variance in speed of processing depending on organization that has supported the venture. Preferred designated organizations will be highlighted on the government website.
✔️4th impact. A commitment from IRCC to process the backlog of previous applications.
✔️5th impact. Those designated organizations that were relying on a steady international stream of participants to pay for programming, will be impacted financially.
⚠️What does it mean for our SVS clients?
While the entire industry has overnight raised the prices between 300% and 1000% to make up for limited capacity, our company maintains the same individual case pricing for limited number of spots still available.
